I have to apologize for this very late post about the Colorado team camp. I know my last post was at about 2:00 in the morning or so and I was commenting on how horrible our trip down to the airport might just be.

At the track after a workout
To catch everyone up on that we changed vehicles 3 times because none of the vans had gas in them. One of the bobsledders drove a van down with all the boys in it. And the girls plus bobsledder Todd had the shuttle driver take us down in a very comfortable suburban. Luckily we made it to the airport on time. But by the time we got to Colorado I had been awake for 24hrs and I was miserable.
This team camp was very fun! I really enjoy getting together with everyone outside of the sliding season. You get to know everyone a little better and no one is super stressed. The coaches and staff had team activities planned for us everyday. Little did we know they would be extremely difficult and tiring.

Seated Volleyball my team won
Saturday we had a team building exercise seated volleyball. Not feet allowed just hands and moving yourself with your butt. It was a lot of fun. Every time we do something as a team I realize how competitive everyone is. There is always a controversy over rules and people cheating. It makes me laugh. My team won!! I had all the tall bobsledders on the team and it seemed like I barely hit the ball but we worked well together.
Sunday was the first team event it was a 2800m relay. We were separated into 6 teams of 6 or so people and together we all had to run a total of 2800m. It was really hectic how they had organized us. It was a free for all because the coaches wanted everyone to communicate as a team. It halfway worked. My team ended up running 3600m so we think because no one knew who was on our team. It was a good workout everyone was so exhausted after it.
During the week we had a lot of meetings for the upcoming season. There is a lot to talk about since its Olympic Year and everything.

Me and Becca three legged race
Team workout day two was an interesting relay that the coaches developed. We had a three legged race, wheelbarrow race, running with cups of water while holding hands, pushing a plastic ball with a spoon in our mouths, things like that. There were 6 people on my team, we had a blast. This picture is me and teammate and friend Becca who is also an America for Gold Athlete. Its really funny seeing big kids play games.

Kicking the keg down the field, more tiring than you'd think
Our next team event was interesting, again the coaches set this one up we had to get a600lb tire rolled and then flipped back down the football field, get 4 heavy kegs down and back, some medicine balls, kettle bells, and a 35lb bar. And throw a ball to each other down the field in towels to each other. That was one seriously tiring activity. Most of us stopped doing our actual workouts before the team events because they were so tiring. I had a good winning ratio going on, my team won this one also!
The workout we will do every year is the incline, at Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs. we do 10 intervals of about 6 seconds. This year the

Me and a teammate at the incline
workout wasn’t too difficult, the hardest part actually is the walk up to get to the workout area. I couldn’t imagine walking all the way to the top of Pikes Peak.

The last team activity which the athletes were allowed to choose was entertaining

I was the 7th leg I didn't let anyone catch me we were smoking people
to say the least. We were split into teams of 4 and every team had to pick an event. We had all different kinds. The first was an 8×200m relay race, pretty much exhausted us all! You can tell I didn’t want to run my last 10 of so meters . We rocked at this part of the relay! The next few we had some problems with, a 400yard 20lb medicine ball toss, pretty much killed my team. Next there was a

Exhausted already with more to go.
50yard shirt switching between teammates holding hands, the worst was military crawling through each others legs. The turf was insanely hot, and everyone was getting horible turf burns on their knees. My team picked the most fun part we wanted to use some water, we had a backwards water balloon throwing to hit your teammates. It was a great event to end on!
I know this post went on forever, hope no one minds. The sun was out every single day, and I finally got a little color, which was all I wanted. I enjoyed seeing everyone, and I loved wearing all of my LuLuLemon clothes my cousin and aunt had gotten me! LuLu is my new favorite athletic atire you have no idea!
